From consultation to final restoration, the full process typically takes 3 to 6 months. Most of that time is healing — the implants need to fuse with your jawbone. During that period, you'll have temporary teeth so you're never without a smile.

How long do dental implants last?+
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant post itself is designed to be permanent. The crown on top may need replacement after 10 to 15 years of wear, but the foundation stays. One of our patients had an implant other dentists couldn't believe was over eight years old.

Dr. Zhang is trained in oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics — the three specialties involved in implant placement and restoration.
